"Weary of War"

    This was one of the first marble figures where I tried for a realisitc and detiled look. The marble came from Marble Mountain in Cape Breton. I had the theme in mind for some time before beginning to carve the piece.
    An ancient warrior has stopped to rest by the side of the road. His sword on his chest and his belongings in a bag beside him.
    Sometimes it seems like we humans have been at war forever.
