Backin’ Up Traps
A lobster fisherman with a trap on his back. Our lobster season ended in the spring, the last day of May. My father would drop off traps at the high tide and we would go on to back them up and put them on the bank. It was warm and very wet work, but you needed a fairly thick shirt to protect your back and shoulders. The seaweed was slippery and it was easy to fall.
