"Hauling by Hand"

I show a fisherman in his small skiff, hauling lobster traps by hand. My grandfather fished this way and my father got his own skiff and traps when WWII ended.
There were some old men in my community who still used a skiff and hauled traps by hand until the early 1960's.

The accessories I show are a tub of bait, a create for lobsters, a wooden bailer, his oil jacket, oars, a steel lunch kit, and a compass.
A pocket watch or a clock would be used to measure time when rowing in the fog.
Pieces of kelp or seaweed, are hanging off the trap as he hauls it aboard.

This is a Ceramic piece except for the rope and oars.
